Switchgear Inspection & Test Record

Switchgear inspection and acceptance testing is one of the highest-stakes deliverables in NETA field work — the record must be complete, defensible, and clearly signed before energization is authorized. This tool generates that record in a structured seven-tab workflow aligned with ANSI/NETA ATS-2025, NETA MTS-2023, NETA ECS-2024, and NFPA 70B requirements. The Header tab captures equipment and job information, inspection basis and applicable standard references, and environmental conditions (ambient temperature, humidity, and weather). The Checklist tab walks through 19 structured visual and mechanical inspection sections covering nameplate and drawing verification, physical and mechanical condition, anchorage and alignment, cleanliness, fuse and breaker size verification, CT and VT ratio verification, wiring tightness, bolted connection high-resistance findings, interlock tests, lubrication, insulators, barriers and shutters, active component exercising, indicators, filters and vents, instrument transformer inspection, surge arrester inspection, control power transformer inspection, and as-left verification. Each item is marked Pass, Fail, or N/A, and the scoring engine calculates an Applicable Score — pass count divided by applicable items, excluding all N/A entries. The Tests tab covers 10 electrical test categories: insulation resistance, dielectric withstand (hi-pot), contact and bolted connection resistance (μΩ), ground and bonding continuity, phasing and phase rotation, breaker racking and interlock functional, control power checks, CT and PT ratio and polarity verification, protective relay and trip unit settings, and torque verification. The Deficiencies tab captures all findings with severity and recommended corrective action. The Photos tab provides a photo gallery with captioning for attaching condition documentation and test setup photos. The Signatures tab records technician and customer representative print names, titles, dates, times, and live signature capture. The Report tab shows a Report Readiness indicator — the form flags not-ready status when required fields are incomplete or deficiencies are unresolved — and provides a Print/Save PDF button. Record persists to browser localStorage between sessions.

• 02Record electrical test results across all 10 test categories including insulation resistance, dielectric withstand, contact resistance, ground continuity, phasing, and CT/PT ratio and polarity verification
• 03Interpret the Applicable Score — the ratio of passed items to applicable (non-N/A) items — and explain why items marked N/A are excluded from the scoring denominator
• 04Document field deficiencies with severity classification and recommended corrective action, and confirm all deficiencies are addressed or documented before the report is marked ready for review
• 05Attach captioned field photographs for condition documentation and test setup evidence using the Photo Gallery tab
• 06Obtain dual signatures — technician and customer representative — and confirm Report Readiness before generating and printing the final inspection record
