Overview
A defensible protective relay test record is the primary deliverable of NETA acceptance and maintenance testing — it must capture relay nameplate data, CT and VT ratios, test equipment with calibration traceability, relay settings as-found and as-left, measured test results compared to tolerance, functional test coverage, deficiency findings, safety controls, and dual-signature review. This tool generates that record entirely in the browser. Work through the collapsible sections in order: enter job and equipment information, select the test type (Acceptance per ANSI/NETA ATS-2025, Routine Maintenance per ANSI/NETA MTS-2023, Commissioning, or Emergency) and the applicable standard, document test instruments with calibration dates, NIST traceability, and frequency/waveform notes, then fill in relay and device data including firmware version, settings file name and checksum, and settings revision. The Nameplate section captures manufacturer, model, device number, serial number, TCC number, CT and VT ratios, ground-fault CT ratio, and element ranges. The Relay Settings and Test Data section supports dynamic element entry — add as many ANSI relay elements (50, 51, 46, and others) as the relay requires, each with pickup, time dial, as-found, and as-left columns. The Functional Test Coverage section tracks each tested function with Pass/Fail/N/A status and notes. The Safety section documents LOTO or energized work condition status, energized work permit requirement, arc flash/shock risk assessment reference, and PPE boundaries. The Deficiency Summary captures findings and recommendations. The Review section records technician and reviewer signatures, date, and report revision. Relay Family Templates provide a starting point for common relay types. The record saves to browser localStorage for session persistence, exports to JSON for archiving, imports JSON to reopen a saved record, and prints to PDF. Built to align with ANSI/NETA ATS-2025 and ANSI/NETA MTS-2023 documentation requirements.
