Overview
Generator acceptance and maintenance testing spans nameplate verification, no-load checks, stepped load bank testing, voltage and frequency regulation measurement, and steady-state stability documentation — all of which must be recorded in a format defensible against NETA ATS, NETA MTS, or NFPA 110-2025 acceptance criteria. This tool captures the complete test record across ten structured tabs. The Header tab records job and site information including customer, location, equipment ID, job number, test date, ambient conditions, tested by, and witnessed by. The Nameplates tab captures both generator nameplate data (manufacturer, model, serial number, phase, nominal voltage, voltage basis, frequency, rated power in kW and kVA, and power factor) and engine nameplate data (manufacturer, model, serial, fuel type — diesel, natural gas, propane, gasoline — and ignition classification). The Standards tab selects the applicable basis: NETA ATS-2025 (acceptance), NETA MTS-2023 (maintenance), NFPA 110-2025 (EPSS operational/load bank), or manufacturer/project spec. The Measured Results tab records load-step measurements from 0% through 100% of rated load. The Panel Results tab records measured voltage deviation, voltage imbalance, current deviation, current imbalance, and frequency tolerance against configurable acceptance thresholds. The Checklists tab covers visual and mechanical inspection and electrical test items. The Parameters tab documents test tolerances and configures acceptance criteria. The Trend Charts tab displays live plots of Power (kW), Frequency (Hz), Voltage L-L, and Current versus time — providing graphical evidence of steady-state behavior and transient response. The Comments tab captures observations and deficiencies. The Report tab generates the final printable record. Data saves to localStorage, exports to JSON, and prints to PDF.
What you'll do
- 01Document complete generator and engine nameplate data including manufacturer, ratings, fuel type, and ignition classification for both the alternator and prime mover
- 02Select the applicable test standard (NETA ATS-2025, NETA MTS-2023, or NFPA 110-2025 EPSS) and configure acceptance tolerances for voltage deviation, voltage imbalance, current deviation, and frequency
- 03Record measured results across load steps from 0% through 100% of rated load and validate measurements against the configured acceptance thresholds
- 04Interpret trend chart data for Power (kW), Frequency (Hz), Voltage L-L, and Current versus time to assess steady-state stability and transient response characteristics
- 05Complete visual and mechanical inspection and electrical test checklists and document any deficiencies or observations in the comments section
- 06Export the completed record to JSON for archiving and print the formatted report for client delivery
