What each reference governs

  • ANSI/NETA ATS Acceptance testing of new equipment prior to energization — the most extensive test set, including dielectric withstand.
  • ANSI/NETA MTS Maintenance testing of in-service equipment; acceptance criteria are referenced to prior test data or as-found condition.
  • ANSI/NETA ECS Commissioning of new electrical systems — verifies the installation performs as designed, beyond component testing.
  • NFPA 70B Recommended practice for an electrical equipment maintenance program, including intervals and condition assessment.
  • NFPA 70E Electrical safety in the workplace — governs the energized-work, PPE and boundary decisions made while performing this inspection.
  • NFPA 70 (NEC) Installation requirements. MCC marking, including short-circuit current rating, is required by 430.98(A).
  • UL 845 / NEMA ICS 18 Product standards the MCC is built and listed to; nameplate ratings trace back to these.

Acceptance criteria in this record come from the manufacturer’s published data, the project specification, and the standard selected above — in that order of precedence. Where they conflict, record the governing value in the criteria field for that test.
